With no onsite Coaches Meeting this year, please review these slides to make sure your familiar with this year's format and changes.


  • June 26-28: 8am (12s); 1pm (12s & 13s); 6pm (13s)
  • June 29: 12s done by 3pm; 13s done by 6pm
Session 2: 14s - 18s
  • June 30 - July 2: 8am (14s & 17/18s); 1pm (15s & 17/18s); 6pm (15s & 16s)
  • July 3: 14s & 17/18s done by 3pm; 15s and 16s done by 6pm 

2021 VF


  • Modified Festival Format. All teams play all 4 days of the event.
  • All teams play between 8 and 12 matches, unless they've elected to not play all days of the event.
  • First two rounds are pool play, Days 3-4 are either pool play or bracket play depending how team has performed.
  • 4 Team Pools are played on two courts with teams playing 3 best of three matches in a row.
  • 3 Team Pools are played on two courts with teams playing 2 three set matches in a row (3 sets played against each team no matter the result of sets 1 & 2).
  • No tie-break sets are played. View 2021 Tie-Break Procedures.
  • No Team officiating assignments.
  • Each playing team provides 2 parent volunteers to call lines and keep score (flip score, BallerTV iPad and modified scoresheet).
  • All matches are at the Phoenix Convention Center.
  • Schedules & Results posted on AES.
  • Rosters limited to 2 coaches, 12 players and 2 chaperones (all must have AAU memberships).
  • Those fully vaccinated do not have to wear masks in the Phoenix Convention Center (June 17 update).
  • No limit on Parents/Spectators allowed per team but Event Passes are still required (June 17 update).


If you are a team outside the Arizona Region or haven't played in any events where your results are available in AES, please fill out our SEEDING REQUEST FORM to help us properly seed your team into the event. Forms submitted by end of day Sunday, June 27, 2021 will be considered. We intend to have Day 1 schedules available on AES by end of day Monday, June 28. 


Team Check-in for 2021 is modified to incorporate a drive-thru for more convenience and to contact free and promote social distancing.

Roster verification and changes will be done on the phone prior to onsite Team Check-In. Any missing rosters after June 14 are subject to a $25 roster change fee.

A Festival Staff member will verify:
  • That you have Medical Release Forms for all Players
  • That a FESTIVAL WAIVER OF LIABILITY FORM has been signed online for all rostered Coaches, Players, and Chaperones. View completed waiver forms HERE.
  • That your AES is correct and that AAU numbers show "verified" (use AAU Import quick link on AES).
  • If AAU numbers are not showing "verified," one of these three forms of verification are acceptable:
    • AAU membership card copy; or 
    • AAU Club Listing (generated from AAU website Club Director Account); or 
    • AAU Team roster (generated from AAU website Club Director Account).
  • All Chaperones have a "verified" AAU number.
  • Only individuals on the AES Team Roster with verified AAU numbers or have paid the Chaperone Roster Fee will receive credentials for admittance to the playing areas. 
  • No general spectators will be permitted to enter. There will be no onsite Box Office Ticket Sales. Clubs were emailed instructions on how to obtain up to 24 Parent/Spectator Event Passes per team.

There is NO Late Team check-in. All teams must check-in during one of the above time periods. If a team does not check in, they will be removed from the tournament.

Online Team Check-In Booking Instructions:
  • Click the “Book Now” tab on the homepage 
  • Select Session #1 (12s & 13s) or Session #2 (14s-18s)
  • You can only check-in 12s and 13s teams on June 25. All other teams must be checked inn on June 28 or 29.
  • Select the time slot you want for Team Check-In
  • When filling in details use the Age Division, Club Name, and Team Name exactly as it appears on your AES Event Roster.
  • If checking in multiple teams at once, make sure to list ALL teams and age divisions.
  • A confirmation email with your selected time and form details will be sent.
  • To change or cancel your reserved time slot, use the CANCEL button on your confirmation email.
  • If you cannot make your check-in time reservation, make sure to change or cancel it so it becomes available for other teams, and we can staff appropriately.
Please note the following:
  • No roster changes will be on site at Team Check-In. Verify your online AES Event Roster is correct. If changes are needed, email them to by June 23.
  • No wristbands will be sold onsite.  They will need to be purchased by the published deadlines. 
  • ONLY 12’s and 13’s teams can check in on June 25th for Session #1.  All other teams must check-in on June 28th and 29th.

The Volleyball Festival is a licensed AAU event.  All participating clubs, athletes and non-athlete adults on a team roster must be AAU members.

To minimize social contact, there will be no practice times for 2021.


Out of town team may request to check out a bag of 6 balls for the entire tournament. Make a request HERE.

Balls are available on a first come, first serve basis.  We will confirm your request by June 18. Once confirmed you will be charged $250. You can pay via Venmo, PayPal or credit card. Balls will be ready for your assigned Team Check-in time at the Phoenix Convention Center (June 25 for 12s/13s, June 28-29 for 14s-18s). Once returned to the West Meeting Room 102A at the Convention Center at the end of the tournament, your $250 will be refunded less $40 per any un-returned balls.


A max of two Age Waivers are allowed per team. For more details or to submit an online Age Waiver Request.
  • 12 Club: Must be born on or after July 1, 2008 (Can't turn 13 before July 1, 2021)
  • 13 Club: Must be born on or after July 1, 2007 (Can't turn 14 before July 1, 2021)
  • 14 Club & 13/14 Open: Must be born on or after July 1, 2006 (Can't turn 15 before July 1, 2021)
  • 15 Club: Must be born on or after July 1, 2005 (Can't turn 16 before July 1, 2021)
  • 16 Club & 15/16 Open: Must be born on or after July 1, 2004 (Can't turn 17 before July 1, 2021)
  • 17/18 Club: Must be born on or after July 1, 2002 OR born on or after July 1, 2001 AND be a high school student (12th grade or below) during some part of the current academic year.
