2013 OPENING CEREMONIES AT US AIRWAYS CENTER

After 3 years at Chase Field, the Opening Ceremonies is moving to US Airways Center, home of the Phoenix Suns and Mercury. The ceremonies run from 5:30 - 7pm and will be followed by an 80's Dance Party on the floor of the arena. Teams begin staging for the Grand March at 4:30pm.

2013 THEME - TOTALLY AWESOME 80's

"Totally Awesome 80's" celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the Volleyball Festival and our first tournament in 1984. From Boom Boxes and Sony Walkmans to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Cabbage Patch Dolls.  Down with E.T., Dirty Dancing, Back to the Future, Full House, The Cosby Show, Leg Warmers and Reebok Freestyles? Then like wear your radical 80's costumes to Opening Ceremonies at US Airways Center June 23 and rock to the outrageous sounds from the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Bon Jovi.

2013 WAVES ANNOUNCED

The Volleyball Festival AM & PM waves will remain the same as 2012.  AM Wave: 12, 13, 14, & 18s.  PM Wave: 15, 16, & 17s.

2013 PLAYER SHOWCASE

Last year, over 200 athletes participated in the Biokats Sports Network National Player Showcase sessions. The 2013 Showcase is on June 23 and is open to athletes from the classes of 2013-2017. Session times are at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Cost is just $50. National Scouting Report (NSR) will hold recruiting seminars and workshops for parents, athletes and coaches during the week.

LIVE WEBCAST OF GAMES AT AZGAMECAST.com

AZgamecast.com will again web-stream games from the Phoenix Convention Center.  Games can be watched live for Free or On Demand for just $5.  DVDs are also available for purchase. Live matches can be viewed HERE.  Recorded matches are available a week after the event and can be searched for HERE.

FUTURE DATES

The Phoenix Convention Center will be the host site for all matches of the 2013 Volleyball Festival.  Our goal is to finalize the dates for Opening Ceremonies and tournament play by October 1 of each year.  The actual dates will only vary by one or two days from the below tentative schedule.

  • June 25 - 29, 2014 (tentative), Opening Ceremonies June 24
  • June 24 - 28, 2015 (tentative), Opening Ceremonies June 23

FESTIVAL POSTER

A Festival tradition for 30 years!  Every player will go home with a commemorative 16" x 20" themed Festival Poster.  Posters are given out at the conclusion of each team's last match.  Below is the 2013 Poster.
